A big race day: IBSF Para Worldcup and Cupraces
Olympia Bob Run
Today 3 competitions took place on the Olympia Bob Run: The IBSF Para Monobob Worldcup, the bobsleigh race "Hotel Bären Trophy" and the skeleton race "4protection Recovery Race".
The first competition of the day was the skeleton race: Due to the presence of the para-athletes every participant started just with one leg. So, all athletes had similar possibilities. At the end former worldchampion Gregor Stähli from Zurich won 67 hundreds ahead of Philippe Wendel (also from Switzerland). The swiss skeleton athlete Fabian Hunger was happy with his bronze medal.
In the second competition of the day, the bobsleigh race "Hotel Bären Trophy", the swiss Pius Höfliger with his brakeman Martin Kunz were again the winners. Also in the medals: Team Baumann and Team Ritzmann.
Last but not least: The IBSF Para Monobob Worldcup. 11 Athletes from 7 nations fought for the places on the podium: Finally, the british Corie Mapp won the race one second and three hundreds ahead of Arturs Klots from Latvia and Jason Sturm (USA).

Ein umfangreicher Wettkampftag: IBSF Para Weltcup und Cuprennen
Heute fanden 3 Wettkämpfe am Olympia Bob Run statt: Der IBSF Para Monobob Weltcup, das Bobrennen "Hotel Bären Trophy" und das Skeletonrennen "4protection Recovery Race".
Der erste Wettkampf des Tages war das Skeletonrennen: Aufgrund der Anwesenheit der Para-Athleten startete jeder Teilnehmer nur mit einem Bein. Dadurch hatten alle Teilnehmer ähnliche Voraussetzungen. Am Ende hatte der ehemalige Weltmeister Gregor Stähli aus Zürich die Nase vorn und gewann 67 Hundertstel vor Philippe Wendel (ebenfalls aus der Schweiz). Der eidgenössische Skeletonfahrer Fabian Hunger freute sich über die Bronzemedaille.
Im zweiten Wettkampf des Tages, dem Bobrennen "Hotel Bären Trophy", schlug wieder der Schweizer Pius Höfliger mit seinem Anschieber Martin Kunz zu. Er verwies Team Baumann und Team Ritzmann auf die Plätze.
Last but not least: der IBSF Para Monobob Weltcup. 11 Athleten aus 7 Nationen kämpften um die Plätze am Podium: Der Brite Corie Mapp gewann eine Sekunde und drei Hundertstel vor Arturs Klots aus Lettland und Jason Sturm (USA).
